The client’s brief was to create a beautiful, durable, low-maintenance flooring solution that was practical enough for everyday living while delivering a refined, contemporary finish both inside and for the exterior. Polished concrete was selected for its cost-effective, hard-wearing and scratch-resistant qualities, as well as its easy-care appeal and timeless aesthetic inside. For the exterior areas around the pool, for durability and slip-resistance the client opted for honed concrete.
A key challenge was that the floor was completed and sealed before the frames and roof were installed, making protection throughout the build process essential to preserve the integrity and finish of the surface. The result is a stylish, durable floor that balances performance with understated design.
